![]() NV Landscape, Inc. is proud of the fact that we bring to you an award-winning team with the talent, experience, and craftsmanship to take a project from concept to completion. At your first meeting with our representative, you will have the opportunity to discuss what your needs and budget requirements are for your project. There is no fee for this initial consultation. Not every project benefits from a drafted design, so after a review of your property a determination is made as to whether the complexity and size of the project warrants an extended design consultation. This process involves creating a more formalized concept and does has a fee associated with it. (refer to MORE INFO REGARDING OUR DESIGN SERVICES). If the requirements for your projects are such that they can be specified from the information gathered at the initial meeting, a proposal will be drafted for your review and approval. NOTE: Projects are not scheduled until a signed contract has been received by our office. Our extended design consultation process begins with an interview to bring out all the needs and wants you have for your outdoor environment. Building from your wish list, and taking into account the style of your home and ergonomic factors such as traffic paths, we develop several rough concepts so you are fully able to explore a variety of possibilities. From there, we meet again to zero in on the best collection of elements that will both suit your purpose and fit your budget. From these decisions a final plan is drafted, including a colored rendering of the of the designer's interpretation of the completed landscape when matured. A Landscape Proposal and Agreement is presented for your approval. Life is unpredictable, to say the least. As your installation progresses, we are there supervising every step of the way. Whenever a change is needed, whether a personal choice ("Say, how about some landscape lighting?") or unforeseen circumstances ("No, it is not customary to encounter 2' deep footings in the walkway demolition process!"), you will be provided with a Change Order in writing, to clearly identify such changes and their costs. Even if the change is a net difference of zero ("I just found out I'm allergic to Olive Trees - how about a substitution?), we still back it up in writing! Many have been amazed at how quickly their job was completed and at how tidy the workspace was maintained. We really take service and safety seriously! While scheduling may mean having to wait your place in line, once we begin we return until the job is done. At the end of every day, we clean up - any trenches or incomplete construction is identified and roped off. Depending on the processes involved in your project, we may require that you sign one or more releases. This step is aimed at making you an informed consumer so that you are aware of any possible risks or outcomes associated with that process. We take above average care in all we do and use the highest quality materials which greatly minimizes potential problem situations, but it is your right and responsibility to be informed. We want your only surprise to be... "I had no idea I could love spending time in my yard THIS much!" Upon completion of your installation, a final walkthrough is performed with you to verify all work has been completed. An Owner's Maintenance Schedule is presented, and verbal instruction on how to operate and/or maintain elements is reviewed. We want you to be comfortable in your new environment and encourage you to call the office if you have any questions.
MORE INFORMATION REGARDING OUR DESIGN SERVICES: When and if it is agreed that there is substantial benefit to creating the visual aid a plan provides, we begin the process with a Design Proposal. The cost of this design service is nominal when compared to that of a Landscape Architect and does not replace the services of a Landscape Architect. A plan supplied by a Landscape Architect includes significantly more detail to allow more than one contractor to bid "apples to apples" and/or assure proper installation without the Architect's supervision. It automatically becomes the property of the client. Our plan is a visual bidding tool that allows both parties to be clear on the type and location of plant and hardscape materials. It accompanies our contract that contains a detailed plant list and general descriptions regarding irrigation, hardscape, and other landscape elements. It does not contain building specifications or an irrigation plan because it is not necessary for NV to generate that information in order to complete your installation properly. The design consultation fee compensates us for your extended professional consultation, and the time and materials necessary to create the visual aid from which we formalize our Landscape Installation contract with you. As such, it is non-refundable and the plan remains the property of NV Landscape and is not available to be put out to bid (see FAQ #4). In essence, it is the FIRST PHASE of your landscape installation and can prove invaluable in preventing costly mistakes in the selection and/or placement of landscape features...a drawing is much easier to rearrange than (250) SQ FT of concrete or a 24" BOX Sycamore Tree. Special arrangements can be made if the plan must be approved by an Homeowner's Association. Upon the completion of your landscape we are happy to release the colored copy of the plan to you.
